Sorry about the wait, but here are a few of my pictures from the first six days of my trip. We spent the first day in Delhi sightseeing. A bus that was literally labeled “TOURIST” drove us around, looking at the colonial buildings of New Delhi, the Parliament of India and India Gate. We spent the afternoon walking around Gandhi’s house where he spent the last 144 days of his life. We also went to the Red Fort in Delhi. Next we travelled to Agra, the home of the Taj Mahal. It was built in the 17th century by Shan Jehan as a tomb for his wife Mumtaz Mahal. It is so beautiful, it looks fake. The next day (14-7-11), we visited Fatehpur Sikri, the abandoned former capital of the Moghul Empire before we started our 5 hour bus drive to Jaipur. Our last day of the tour was in Jaipur where we rode an elephant up to the Amber Fort. The ride was pretty scary since it was up a ridge but it was a beautiful view.
